Essence Sage Oyos grew up on 100 acres of sage, oak, and granite filled canyons of Northeastern San Diego. She is Kumeyaay/Yoeme Native American descending from a line of Alternative Health practitioners, Medical Technicians, Nurses, and a Pharmacist.
She graduated from International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) in 1998, and began her bodywork career serving in the Fallbrook and north county areas of San Diego. She earned her BA in Psychology from CSU San Marcos in 2001 with a minor in Anthropology.
She experienced and began her learning journey with the powerful John F. Barnes' approach to Myofascial Release in 2003 and continues her education in many realms, furthering her desire for knowledge (experience) of the healing potential in all of us.
Essence is married to Lucas Haynes for more than 17 years; she enjoys being in a relationship that continues to grow and evolve as she and her husband support each other in their dreams and life's work. They are the proud and grateful parents of two amazing children.
She also cares for her elders, loving to bridge the connection between elder, middle, and young; finding and nourishing the common love-space between the generations has been rewarding.
"The heart connections and tremendous growth opportunities I have been blessed with throughout my career and life have inspired me to continue my journey as a bodywork practitioner. I absolutely LOVE doing what I've been called to do." -Essence Sage
