Essence Sage Oyos is 'Iipay/Yoeme Native American and a member of the Mesa Grande Band of Mission Indians. She descends from a line of Alternative Health practitioners, Medical Technicians, Nurses, and a Pharmacist.

Essence graduated from International Professional School of Bodywork (IPSB) in 1998, and continues her bodywork career serving in the Fallbrook and north county areas of San Diego, nearly 25 years later.  She earned her BA in Psychology from CSU San Marcos in 2001 with a minor in Anthropology; and earned an AA in Kumeyaay Studies from Cuyamaca College and a Master of Public Administration from National University, both in 2019.

She experienced and began her learning journey with the powerful John F. Barnes' approach to Myofascial Release in 2003 and continues her education in many realms, furthering her desire for knowledge and experience of the healing and growth potential in all of us.

Essence is the proud and grateful parent of two amazing children. She also cares for her elders, loving to bridge the connection between elder, middle, and young; finding and nourishing the common love-space between the generations has been rewarding.

Essence serves voluntarily as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for Mesa Grande Business Development Corporation.
